The 4 Easy Steps to a Healthy, Organic Lawn
Step 1: Call for a Consultation and Comprehensive Soil Chemistry Analysis
One of our Harrington's consultants will meet with you to discuss the history of your lawn and how the Harrington's System can work for you. A soil sample will also be collected at this initial visit. "WE DON'T GUESS, WE TEST!"All of our programs begin with a comprehensive soil chemistry analysis, which provides us with the blueprint of your soil. This proactive approach helps us understand exactly what your soil needs, so nothing is applied unnecessarily. Every soil is different, so why should they all be treated the same?
Step 2: Sign Up for Our Harrington's Soil Health Program™
Every lawn requires a certain amount of nitrogen for proper growth and development. Healthy soils nourish the lawn with the necessary mineral and nutrients it requires. Lawns that have been treated with synthetic fertilizers and chemicals are often stripped of beneficial micro-organisms that nourish the turf plants. Our Harrington's Soil Health Program™ will revitalize and balance your soil for the needs of your grass plants - not pesky weeds, insects and diseases - eliminating the need for the use of toxic chemicals.
Each visit includes natural soil and foliar feeding with our exclusive SafeTea™- a living, liquid biological amendment, and our proprietary organic soil conditioners and root builders. In the spring and/or fall we will also apply our exclusive organic pre-emergent crab grass control.
The Harrington's Soil Health Program™ is completed in 6 visits, from spring to fall, and is the foundation to the Harrington's System™. Our fertilizers are derived from naturally occurring sources.
Step 3: Receive Your Customized Organic Solutions Program™
The foundation for a healthy, natural lawn begins with the soil. With the results of your soil chemistry analysis, we customize our Harrington's Organic Solutions™ Program to meet the unique needs of your lawn. Although the requirements for proper turf grass growth and development is fairly consistent, every soil is different, therefore it must be addressed on an individual basis.Your soil analysis will be used in determining whether your soil will need lime, additional organic matter, or any other nutrients to cure deficiencies. You will receive a copy of your soil analysis with our customized recommendations.
Step 4: Over-Seeding: Out with the Old, In with the New
"The infusion of new seed into existing turf is, in essence, an injection of youth into a natural aging process." - Paul SachsOver seeding is a regular part of an aggressive, natural, organic program.
Grass plants grow old with time, become weak, and often don't perform well. For tired lawns we offer a full line of seeding and renovation services to introduce new grass varieties that are more vigorous, insect and disease resistant, and well suited for your landscape environment.
Introducing new grass varieties can also speed up the transition from a chemically treated lawn to organic maintenance, leaving you with a lush green lawn, not dependent on chemical fertilizers.
For soils with excessive compaction, or in high traffic areas, we offer core aeration to introduce more air, water, and nutrients to the subsurface.
